Reinventing Yourself

planting

This has been my hardest post to write so far.  I think it’s because I am looking for my next adventure and I’m stuck.  I spend a lot of time checking off things I’ve wanted to accomplish.

I finished my master degree.  I went on short vacation for my anniversary.  I bought myself a bicycle (though it’s been over 20 years since I’ve been on one). I’ve lost over 60 pounds and am still going. I pay attention to my emotions. I treat people the way I want to be treated – with kindness and respect.  I meditate.  I started this blog.  I applied for teaching positions – a lifelong dream.  I respect time – especially how short it is. I take time for myself and take time to appreciate those around me.

Do you have a bucket list?  I have always been a goal setter. And I strive to improve myself.  But when I think of a bucket list, I think of grand travel or adventure ideas.  I’ll have to ponder this.

For me, the hardest obstacle I have to face is my fear. But, I push through.  After my ancestry research, I think it’s in my blood to keep going. I need to figure out what I want to do, what I want to change, what I want to achieve.

My biggest challenge today is finding that next thing.  Naturally, being a librarian, I did a few searches about reinventing yourself.  Things come up about your career, your health, your attitude, your future, and so on.  So I’ll go read a few books, some online articles, and check out Pinterest for inspiration.  It’s time for a new list.

While I’m finding my next big thing, I leave you with these thoughts…

This much I know:
Be grateful. Every morning. Every day.
Love yourself. Forgive yourself.
Be kind.
Keep Moving. Forward.

  1. Hi Tina. I don’t have a bucket list, but I do set long term goals: undergrad, masters degree, husband, kids, dogs, etc… Maybe that is a bucket list and I’m just a boring guy? I’m not sure.
